Getting ready for back to school

(Aug. 20, 2010) It's hard to believe but summer vacation is almost over. Stores are showcasing back-to-school items. Many college students already are back on campus.

This season has been a great old-fashioned summer with hot weather and lots of summertime fun. There are still some activities for all ages as the August comes to an end. So enjoy the waning lazy, hazy days of summer and get revitalized for the busy fall.

Fair time

(Aug. 10, 2010) It's the season for county fairs. In fact, the N.J. State Fair is going on this week in Augusta. What a way to celebrate the summer! Today's fairs offer everything from carnival rides and midway food to animal shows, even pop concerts. Last week's Warren County Fair featured a show by Elvis impersonator Ryan Pelton.
